DRESSAGE SHOW 15 AUGUST 2004

It's not a good sign when you learn that the Show Secretary has decided to go off to Sweden on the very morning of the show she has spent all year planning but sometimes these things happen... and when it does, everyone just has to muck in.. and they did! Special thanks, then, to all who assisted in the setting up and running of this show, however big or small their contribution. At the risk of inadvertantly omitting someone's name and thereby risking their eternal wrath, we'd like to say a big THANK YOU to Andrew, Liz, Debby, Pam, Joe, Malcolm, Alison, Hilary, Marion, Helen, Jan, Susan,to our judges, Heather Carstairs, Shiela Bruce & Isobel Ripley and , of course, to the Show Secretary, Tricia Garnett. We were blessed with a lovely warm summers day and everyone seemed to enjoy the competition. It was especially nice to see Area 22 Secretary Pam Hunter take part after her recent illness. The day however belonged to Catherine Richards who picked up 1st & 3rd with Deri and two firsts with Delfi , although she was given a close run for her money by Natalie Waran who collected two firsts with Khubla Khan.Still, even Natalie could only manage second in the Pairs with Debbie Gowing & Ellie, leaving Shona Hynd(Jasper) and Linda Gove (Wellington)the satisfaction of picking up first and "being the only people to beat Natalie all day". As this show was being combined with the postponed Dressage day of the Members Show there were rosettes galore so most folk went home happy. Well done to everyone!! FULL RESULTS ATTACHED
